We received this 2023 award for the painting of this substantial 2-storey home in St. Kilda East. It was in very poor condition with a lot of bubbling and peeling, so we had to strip a lot of paint and oil undercoat prior to painting. Given the age of the property and condition of the paintwork, we followed our lead painting processes to protect everyone. Our client was thrilled with the outcome. This 2021 award is for the painting of this fabulous heritage 2-storey home in St. Kilda. It was a bit unusual in that the windows and doors were already painted in 2 colours in gloss enamel and our client wanted to repaint in enamel, so we did that. There are over 70 windows. Ordinarily, we would change over to acrylic paint. Before commencing, we organised our carpenter to repair the 2^nd-storey balcony and replace rotten timber as required. We completed extensive preparation, especially with the gloss enamel surfaces, to ensure they would be smooth and glossy and the paint finish durable. We stripped some fascias and window sills and oil-undercoated those and all bare timber prior to painting. Due to the age of the property, we assumed there was lead paint underneath and followed our lead paint procedures when stripping paint. St. Kilda apartment block — We received the above painting award in 2017 for painting this apartment block in St. Kilda East. We sprayed most of the walls and used scaffolding and booms to access the high areas. We also had to arrange for the power lines to be isolated when installing and removing the scaffolding. When working with body corporate properties, we spend a lot of time upfront organising and planning the painting project to minimise disruption for residents. It is a block of 4 beautiful apartments that were renovated before we painted the interiors of 3 apartments and the exterior of the building. There was a lot of timberwork to stain and varnish inside, while the exterior was a large project requiring extensive preparation. The property is located in St. Kilda East. This photo is of a modern home in Elwood. We painted the full interior of this home. As it is quite new, not much preparation was required compared with the period homes above.

Our final photo is from Jacques Reymond Restaurant in Prahran. We painted the interior of the restaurant over time as required. The image shows that it is a beautiful ornate building with a lot of detailed work in the cornices and woodwork. St. Kilda is an inner-city suburb located 6kms from the Melbourne CBD. It is located on the Port Phillip foreshore and has a population of 17,000 people.

St. Kilda was named after the schooner Lady of St. Kilda after it was moored there for most of 1841.

St. Kilda is an entertainment precinct and is renowned for its beaches, marina, yacht club, pier and numerous public events and festivals.

Landmarks include Luna Park, the Esplanade Hotel, St. Kilda Pier, St. Kilda Sea Baths and the Astor and Palais theatres. Acland Street and Fitzroy Street are the main shopping areas and are renowned for their cafes and restaurants.
