We received this 2023 award for the painting of this substantial 2-storey home in St Kilda East, very close to Prahran. It was in very poor condition with a lot of bubbling and peeling, so we had to strip a lot of paint and oil undercoat prior to painting. Given the age of the property and condition of the paintwork, we followed our lead painting processes to protect everyone. Our client was thrilled with the outcome. The above photos are of the Malvern Heart Centre. We painted both the inside and outside following the renovation of this iconic building in Malvern East. Apartment block in St Kilda — The photo is of an apartment building we painted in St. Kilda East. It is a large building where we used scaffolding and booms to access the high areas. Often the most complex parts of these projects involve working with the power company to ensure we meet the regulations and everyone on-site is safe. Communicating with residents to ensure everyone knows what is happening is also important. We were awarded an Excellence in Painting Award in 2017 for this project. This photo is of an older period-style apartment in Prahran. We painted the entire apartment and completed preparation including filling, gapping and sanding.

Prahran External — This photo is of a townhouse that is part of a 3-unit townhouse development we painted. This is an example of a modern townhouse in Prahran. These properties are generally quite straightforward to paint as there is no lacework and the buildings are relatively new.

This photo is of a 2-storey terrace in Prahran. We painted the exterior using a boom to access the high areas. These types of properties usually require quite a lot of preparation due to their age and ornate features.

Prahran 3181

Prahran is located 5kms south-east of the Melbourne CBD. It is an inner-city suburb with a population of 11,000 and is part of the City of Stonnington.

Prahran was named in 1837 from two Aboriginal words, Pur-ra-ran, meaning “land partially surrounded by water”. This was due to its proximity to the Yarra River and a swamp now known as Albert Park Lake.

Prahran’s main landmark is the Chapel Street shopping precinct, renowned for fashion, cafes, clubs and restaurants. This shopping area was developed during the 1890s and early 1900s and became the shopping and entertainment centre of Melbourne.
