We received a 2023 painting award for this fabulous home we painted in Northcote, very close to both Fitzroy and Fitzroy North. The rear of the house is a modern extension and the front is an original heritage home. Apart from the usual preparation of sanding, filling and gapping, we also washed and sanded a lot of oiled timber and brought it back to life using Sikkens Cetol HLS. Much of the timber was black or heavily weathered and we had to wash it multiple times and sand it prior to recoating. We received the above award for the painting of this fabulous 2-storey home in Kew. Substantial preparation was required, as well as scaffolding for the 2nd-storey and organising for the power company to cover the power line. For more information on this, please click here to see our project page.

Master Painters Award

This photo is of the Melbourne Athenaeum, a beautiful heritage building in the Melbourne CBD. This was a fabulous project to work on, as the transformation was incredible. We cleaned and prepared the building prior to painting and advised where to apply the second colour to enhance the detailing. These are front and rear photos of a fabulous home we painted in Brunswick, very close to Fitzroy. It has an original heritage facade and a very modern extension at the rear. We completed substantial preparation for this project and used scaffolding to access the high areas.

This church is operated by Melbourne City Mission and is located in Fitzroy North. We painted the exterior metalwork and timberwork, as well as some offices inside.

This photo is of a house in Fitzroy North where we painted both the interior and exterior as part of a large renovation. The exterior was complex due to the access and power lines. We used a boom to access the 2nd-storey.

This photo is of another large home in Fitzroy North. We painted the interior and exterior. Being a period home, a great deal of preparation was required, including filling cracks, gapping and sanding prior to painting.

Photo of a wrought-iron fence we painted in Fitzroy North. We sanded the surfaces and applied rust converter to rusty areas prior to painting with an epoxy gloss enamel. It looks brand new now!

This photo is of a townhouse development in Clifton Hill. There are 5 townhouses in the development. We worked with our clients to assist with the colour scheme and used a boom to access the high areas.

Fitzroy is an inner-Melbourne suburb situated 2kms north-east of the CBD. It has a population of approximately 9,000 people and is part of the City of Yarra. It is Melbourne’s smallest suburb, measuring only 100 hectares.

Fitzroy was Melbourne’s first suburb, created in 1839, and was named after Sir Charles Augustus FitzRoy, the Governor of New South Wales from 1846 to 1855.

Being such an old suburb, much of Fitzroy is a historic preservation precinct, with many buildings and streetscapes covered by heritage overlays.
