We received a 2023 painting award for this fabulous home we painted in Northcote, very close to Clifton Hill. The rear of the house is a modern extension and the front is an original heritage home. Apart from the usual preparation of sanding, filling and gapping, we also washed and sanded a lot of oiled timber and brought it back to life using Sikkens Cetol HLS. Much of the timber was black or heavily weathered and we had to wash it multiple times and sand it prior to recoating. We received the above award for the painting of this fabulous 2-storey home in Kew. Substantial preparation was required, as well as scaffolding for the 2nd-storey and organising for the power company to cover the power line. For more information on this, please click here to see our project page.

Master Painters Award

This photo is of the Melbourne Athenaeum, a beautiful heritage building in the Melbourne CBD. This was a fabulous project to work on, as the transformation was incredible. We cleaned and prepared the building prior to painting and advised where to apply the second colour to enhance the detailing. We were awarded an Excellence in Painting Award for the painting of this building. Please click here for more information.

These before and after photos are of a fabulous home we painted in Clifton Hill. This was a very complex project due to the power lines, height, work involving other trades and council requirements. Significant preparation was also required, as the house hadn’t been painted for many years. We organised a carpenter and roof plumbers and managed them as part of the project. We also managed the power company and council permits and organised the scaffolding. You can see the poor condition of the house prior to painting and how fabulous it looks afterwards. It looks amazing now and our client is extremely happy!

Before photo of a modern townhouse complex in Clifton Hill consisting of 5 two-storey townhouses. The render had rust showing through, so we had to undercoat all the walls prior to painting. Some render repair work was also required. We used a boom to access most of the high areas.

This is the after photo showing the transformation from the old blue and pink colour scheme to a modern charcoal and grey colour palette, which looks incredible.

This interior photo is from a townhouse in the complex above. We painted this townhouse first and our client was so happy that he recommended us to the other owners when it came time to paint the exterior of the complex. As you can see, the interior is very modern with large open spaces. It was straightforward to paint due to its age and condition.

These 2 photos are from the same house in Clifton Hill. We have painted this home several times over the years. Our client would call us back whenever another room was ready to paint and we also painted the exterior shown here. As you can see from the photos, the house is a period home constructed of render. It has high ceilings and ornate features. These types of homes generally require more preparation than modern homes because the solid ceilings and walls tend to crack with movement.

Clifton Hill is an inner suburb of Melbourne located 4kms north-east of the CBD. It is part of the City of Yarra and has a population of approximately 6,000 people.

Clifton Hill was named after Clifton Farm, one of the first properties in the area.
