We received this 2023 award for the painting of this substantial 2-storey home in St Kilda East, very close to Elwood. It was in very poor condition with a lot of bubbling and peeling, so we had to strip a lot of paint and oil undercoat prior to painting. Given the age of the property and condition of the paintwork, we followed our lead painting processes to protect everyone. Our client was thrilled with the outcome. This 2021 award is for the painting of this fabulous heritage 2-storey home in St. Kilda. It was a bit unusual in that the windows and doors were already painted in 2 colours in gloss enamel and our client wanted to repaint in enamel, so we did that. There are over 70 windows. Ordinarily, we would change over to acrylic paint. Before commencing, we organised our carpenter to repair the 2^nd-storey balcony and replace rotten timber as required. We completed extensive preparation, especially with the gloss enamel surfaces, to ensure they would be smooth and glossy and the paint finish durable. We stripped some fascias and window sills and oil-undercoated those and all bare timber prior to painting. Due to the age of the property, we assumed there was lead paint underneath and followed our lead paint procedures when stripping paint. This photo is of a large apartment block in East St. Kilda. We sprayed most of the walls and used scaffolding and booms to access the high areas. We were awarded a painting award in 2017 for this project. To see more photos of this project and others, please click here.

Painters Elwood — This photo is of a period-style house we painted in Elwood. We painted both the interior and exterior. We paint many of these styles of homes throughout Melbourne and are experienced in repairing and painting timberwork, as well as painting lacework and detailing with 2 or 3 colours.

Painter Elwood — This photo is also of a home we painted in Elwood. It is another period home, but a completely different style and constructed in render rather than timber. We sprayed the walls of this house because the render was heavily textured.

House painters Elwood — This photo is of a 2-storey modern home in Elwood, completely different to the period homes above. Modern homes generally don’t have the same preparation requirements, as they are newer and have less timber.

Building painters Elwood — These 2 photos are from a 3-storey modern townhouse we painted in Elwood. Like the modern property above, we didn’t need to carry out too much preparation.

Elwood 3184

Elwood has a population of approximately 14,000 people and is an inner Bayside suburb located 8kms south of the CBD on Port Phillip Bay. It is part of the City of Port Phillip.

Elwood was originally swampland. It only became inhabitable once the Elwood Canal was installed.

Elwood is home to Elwood Sailing Club, Elwood Beach, Elwood Canal and Point Ormond Reserve.
